Nourishing Hope: How Bahay Aruga Supports Children Fighting Cancer

Sep 23, 2026

Every child deserves the chance to grow, heal, and simply be a child.
When Bahay Aruga opened its doors twelve years ago, its mission was to provide shelter for children undergoing cancer treatment. Over time, it grew to provide basic necessities and, importantly, nutritious, quality meals.

For many patients, wholesome food is something they have rarely experienced. Sharing a good meal provides more than nourishment—it brings comfort, normality, connection, and a sense of belonging during an incredibly difficult time.
We are deeply grateful to The Gary and Madoka Foundation and Rose CGI for their continued support. Your generosity provides far more than food—it offers comfort, dignity, security, and the knowledge that these families are not alone.

We hope Bahay Aruga will continue for many years, providing a temporary home, nourishing meals, and a caring community to those who need it most.
However difficult life may be, we will continue to stand with them and soldier on.

About Robert

I am a Canadian living in Japan and the Philippines for more than 40 years. After surviving the tsunami in Phuket, Thailand, in December 2004, I decided it was finally time to act on a long held desire to do something for the children of the area who have less available to them in terms of health care, shelter and education. I have established a non profit organization that helps care for these needs of some children. I sincerely thank those who would like to contribute to the cause in any way, please email us at: info@rosecgi.org
