A dangerous level of heat index

May 1, 2023

A dangerous level of heat index were recorded in the past weeks in the Philippines, some classes had to be conducted under the tree and some students collapsed due to unbearable heat in other parts of the country. During our REDEEM Project in Brgy. Naasug, parents were taught how to prevent heat exhaustion and how to manage heat stroke should it ever happen. They also learned First Aid Management for Seizure, Heart Attack and Foreign Body Airway Obstruction. They enjoyed learning CPR and saw how important having the skill since Ambulance will take about 20 minutes to reach their area.

Rose Colored Glasses and Philippine Red Cross Boracay-Malay Chapter continue to contribute in making communities resilient and through bringing awareness and empowering families. Each of the beneficiaries received 5 kilos of rice each and hygiene kits. Thank you to our donors, the Gary and Madoka Foundation for the continued support.

About Robert

I am a Canadian living in Japan and the Philippines for more than 40 years. After surviving the tsunami in Phuket, Thailand, in December 2004, I decided it was finally time to act on a long held desire to do something for the children of the area who have less available to them in terms of health care, shelter and education. I have established a non profit organization that helps care for these needs of some children. I sincerely thank those who would like to contribute to the cause in any way, please email us at: info@rosecgi.org
