We are finally bringing the REDEEM project in Mainland Malay on our 6th month of implementation. A long trek up the mountain leads to a small village of indigenous people called the ATI. They rely mainly on root crops for their staple foods and once in a while they also go down to the coastal area to fish. This is the first time we knew the village existed, and we are happy that it’s the REDEEM project we are bringing. The villagers were very happy to listen and learn about lifesaving. They were also taught about planning better when disasters come and about hygiene practices. We turned over 125 kgs of rice and hygiene kits to this small but warm community.
Thanks to Rona and her Boracay Red Cross team and special thanks to our sponsor the Gary and Madoka Foundation.
